I'M BLESSED.......
Do anyone know any rules of thumb when looking for an internal hardrive for the 2500? Name brands? Any other specs? Also, I need to grab a cd/dvd-r drive, any websites, retail stores, or wharehouses?

Thanks!

I would get a seagate HD because they are fast, very reliable & stable, and are quiet. Backed with a great warranty. When I was repairing other people's computers, I've seen MANY older Western Digital HD's break down... Now a days they are decent & ok, but i still doubt them... Maxtor used to suck ass... until they were bought by Seagate, and now they just got the same warranties as them.

Wow!
I wish I read this before I dipped out, I ran out and got 120 Gigs Western Digital 1200. I didn't open it yet though! (LOL)
Dudes over in the MPC Forum was saying great things about it though, so I might take a stab at it. I still wish i had read your post first, still having 2nd thoughts now......

Good Looking out too Stray!
I copped one on ebay (New) with 128 ram upgrade for $1,100. I just need to install a cd/dvd and the HD I just copped!

I think western digital worked out the kinks in their older drives. In older drives, I'm talking about when 80GB was a big drive & expensive (which wasn't THAT long ago). I think you should be ok with the newer WD drives. I do like the Raptor 10K rpm drive, but are having iffy thoughts about buying it since it is a WD.
