Interesting Mic controversy

noisedude, in american libel suits, *malice has to be proven. it's not enough to say something untrue, you have to say something untrue with the malicious intent to injure. i don't know how it works in the uk.

this whole thing makes me think about behringer and mackie and their sound differences. i can't remember which series was exactly identical to a mackie mixer, or if it was that all their mixers are reverse engineered mackies, but i do remember hearing about how they were identical inside except transposed.

different components can obviously make a huge difference. i'm not sticking up for telefunken, i'm just saying that the resistors are visibly different values, and possibly different brands which means that other components may be and probably are. whether the different components really make that much difference in this case, i don't know and if they do, i don't know if the difference is worth a thousand bucks

i just think that people are getting stuck on the fact that the layout is the same. i think there's more to the sound than that though.

Trypto- My Point: You don't have to prove ANYTHING to cost the defendant a lot of money. Bill Clinton's legal costs were well over 1.5 million dollars, he was not proven guilty of anything, was he? Who do you think has more disposable income, AH or DJL? And PMI could write it off as a legitimate biz expense. No matter what motorcycle you ride, you are riding a better motorcycle because of Honda, Yamaha, etc. I put forth this proposition: Whatever mic you are using, it is better because of the competition from PMI, MXL, ADK and others.

hey, I am currently living about 10 minutes up the road from Lee's Ford in Nancy, I bet you know where that is! But I am in the middle of moving back to cincinnati. I've only been down here for a couple years, my whole family lives in this area. I was working in Nashville and in Cincy at the same time and needed some middle ground!

And your point is?

Don (DJL) is a helpful guy who has a lot to offer here, but he has one problem, he can't go along with Alan Hyatt. Nobody knows why and actually nobody cares why.

It would be best when Alan puts DJL on his ignore list, this forum would be much better.

Sorry mate, I did assume you were someone who is here regularly and started a new name (1 post) just to spout off and pontificate.

As far as mics, they aren't better because of cheap chinese crap and anyone who uses mics for a living will verify that. Mic makers are scrambling all the time trying to come with stuff that's as good as the old stuff.

The only thing the chinese makers have done is made mics cheaper, not better.
