znert,

Uhhhh....No! Not much chance of that for a $99.00 Stephen Paul mic, but your heading up the right direction on the B1, just stick a screen in front of it, and kick away!!!!

Alan Hyatt

The B1 works well for kick, as well as vocals? Nice... That's probably going to be the first mic I buy when I can afford to buy a decent mic...

Congratulations to both of you!
It is very obvious that this is well deserved for both of you.
Good luck and kick some butt!!!
thanks for hanging in there with us folks on this forum.

Neuman who????

Thanks Patty,

We will do our best. I was just over at RAP, and man is that brutal. I feel like I have been hit by a bulldozer. Talk about being hammered...and I thought the name Stephen Paul meant something!!

Anyway, thanks

Geez Alan, took a quick look at the posts over there, and it
surprised me too. Especially with already having a high degree of
respect for those guys normally as a source of information, the
resistance to a new idea/product line is disappointing.

Why crush anyone's enthusiasm for anticipating something they
look forward to? (even if it's not out yet)
Meant as a rhetorical question BTW.

Chris

P.S. I think you and Stephen will have the last laugh anyway!

Stephen Paul's name DOES mean a great deal over at r.a.p. to some of us who know his work. Unfortunately, I don't think Stephen fully understood the way the r.a.p. community operates when he last visited there. Certainly I, Fletcher, George Massenburg, Al Schmitt, Bob Ohlsson, and many other who are familiar with Stephen's work, all respect the hell out of him.

If people challenge Stephen in newsgroups, his first reaction is "I've got better things to do than cast pearls before swine", and he's probably right. Rather than explain why a person's ideas are wrong, it's easier for Stephen to basically say, "Shut up and learn something, or teach the class yourself".

Considering all that Stephen Paul knows, it's probably a good way for him to approach imparting his knowledge without him wasting a lot of time - to the right class. But, it didn't sit too well with the people here, and it didn't sit too well at r.a.p.

Kinda like Stephen Hawking giving an advanced course on "black hole formulations" to a group made up of graduate students and inner city high school kids. Sooner or later, someone in the back of the room is gonna say, "Yo man, you talking about my girl friend?". I imagine Mr Hawking would mutter the scientific equivilent of "Fuck it, I don't need this shit!" and motor off the stage.

Harvey,

You killed me with that statement... I had to change my pants!! :D

is Hawking still alive? I've seen ALS eat people up pretty damn quickly...

Anyhow, congrats Allan and Steven! Wonder if I could squirrel away enough $ by November....

As far as interns... thanks all who have volunteered. Don't give up hope just yet, but there is a young lady from Texas with BSEE who is coming in this weekend, and I think she's got the spot.

Jenna Bush? ;):D:D

Re: "young intern"

And don't tell Clinton, otherwise the fox will be in the chicken coup.

Brilliantly funny analogy Harvey, although compared to the "grad's" and
"high schoolers", I'm just a relatively well behaved first grader!

what will get me is if I see a review by that prorec guy.

His obsequious reviews lead me to believe that either mfgers pay him or he needs a serious quality eval.

who is "that pro rec guy"?....theres quite a few there that do reviews and they are all pretty much straight shooters.....

prorec, gidge, not pro rec.

Which other one is obsequious?
I only know of one.

well, if ya gotta get all technical, its ProRec.........

who is the obsequious one?....dunno, i asked first.....

stephen, what does BSEE mean?
dammit how much I would like to learn how to make microphones...this fall im gonna study art (or perhaps work as an engineering assistant at a musical, managing some wireless microphones)..., thats not even close to recording and engineering, but I feel most recording schools won´t have much to offer...what am I going to do ? :)
a question: Where did you start learning about making microphones, do you have an engineering exam , and learned for yousrelf from there or what? did you have a teacher that tought you the basics?
Im just a bit curious..

Awesome news about the partnership. I am looking forward to this one. I would like to enroll in pre-orders. Be sure to tell dragon to post something on the main bbs page when they are available so we konw whats cookin'. Will you be offering mic endorsment packages? Will they be available anywhere I can currently get SP and Joe stuff?

Mike,

The Stephen Paul mics will be way more limited. Mostly higher end boutique audio shops. Of course if these shops don't want to support the line, we will go elsewhere.

It is still a way off so we will get you more information as we get it.
