Ok I've been practicing scales/modes all through the hollidays and that's great, I've improved a fair bit (still not past the eurica barrior yet) but it's a step up from the pentatonic and major bullshit I was doing (although there is a time and a place for them to be used). Now my teacher is a jazz teacher so won't be able to help me with what I'm trying to achive, as you may or may not know I'm looking to solo "shred". So I thought I'd buy myself a few dvd's.

Now what do we reccomed people.

I thank you

Try "Hooked on Phonics."

I keed, I keed.

The mandatory works in the field include Paul Gilbert's vids, but I think at least one of them is VHS only.

"Rock Discipline" by John Petrucci.

It's a great chops builder.
