My niece came to visit from a distant part of the country, to attend the funeral of my mother. She brought her 6-week old baby, Amelie, with her. Amelie was so beautful I was moved to write this song for her. I came up with the basic melody and picked the chord progression from key notes in the song. The backing guitar arpeggio is an SG as is the lead guitar. Fender bass and synthed Rhodes EP and drums completes the backing. Its a little sleepy at first but so was Amelie...

Cool- second run through here. Very pretty instrumental.
Are the drums real or programmed? They're pretty realistic to me.
I love that Rhodes sound. There are a couple Rhodes patches on the keyboard I use but none of them sound completely convincing....I think I'm just gonna have to buy one someday. :)

Thanks for listening. The drums are programmed. I wish I couild say I played them for real but alas no, just the guitars are me. The Rhodes patch came from Digital Sound Factory Classic Keys Vol 2. Some nice stuff in there. The Rhodes is very subtle here, just provides some background fill-in for the arpeggio guitar

Nice song. Well played. Liked the lead guitar tone.

Not sure of the "right" level for a snare in this genre - but it seemed low in the mix to me.

The bass sounded a bit muddy to me. I might suggest cutting somewhere in the 300hz range. There may be another boomy frequency below that - like around 80hz - 100hz.

I'm also having a little trouble hearing the rhythm guitar. Seems a little indistinct.

Thanks Trip
For the rhythm guitar I was only playing a light arpeggio, not strumming at all. The guitar and the EP were just supposed to provide a backdrop rather than being prominent or it may have interfered with the lead solo. The snare was light anyway except for the fills. I was pretty happy with that part. If you think it needs more, I might check it out. I wasnt going to add bass because the EP was doing reasonably well by itself and may be contributing to the muddiness you mentioned. Thank you for the feedback, always appreciated
