input question

Hello,
I'm new to cubase (and recording)I am hooking my quitar directly into an audio hookup on my M-audio 1010lt. The VST input screen is where I have to set my inputs.I cant just set an analog input.My question is : Are all inputs VST inputs,even analog inputs.

are you getting a signal from your guitar in other applications, i.e. not cubase? If the signal is getting into the computer it should be just a question of audio settings (the 'launch button' lets you choose which inputs to use and the level volume). I don't know anything about your comp or that M1010 thing you mentioned but maybe this will help.

you should go into your m-audio mixer view as well.....you have to make sure your inputs there are set up properly.
