Importing Audio???

I have imported audio into my Studio 4 numerous times and have never had this problem. I am completely stumped...

I have a .wav file that I am trying to import in and make some adjustments to. I have played the file on both Windows Media Player and iTunes. Both play fine. But when I import it in, I see the file there and all the waveforms, etc. but no sound. Its not a problem with my monitors or anything like that. Its a Cubase thing. I know this because it isn't even showing a level. The mixer has no level showing up at all. As it plays, it shows nothing. I have tried thinking of everything, but can't figure out why this wont work. Again, I have done this numerous times but this one time, I can't get it to work. I even converted the file to an .mp3 but that didn't work either. The only thing different this time is the audio file was exported from Nero from a video. Its the Audio portion only off the video. I don't see how that matters though. I mean, a .wav file is a .wav file...why would it matter where it came from. Any thoughts on this??

Thanks in advance!!

Have you toggled "Play in background" tosee if that changes things? Just a thought because I have forgotten to do so before, Dave.

I don't think its an automation issue or anything like that. Even if I did have an automation set for no volume, wouldn't I still see the level on the mixer. I wouldn't hear it, but I would still see it. I don't know... its really annoying though.

With the meter in pre fader' mode, yes. Post' maybe not. Still- just a wild long shot though.
