I have a bizzare problem here... I've imported a WAV to my tracking software, Samplitude, that converted it from an original MP3. With me so far? OK, my soundcard (a Lexicon Core2) skips and stutters all over this new WAV, but is rock steady on all of my other sound files -my SBLive plays it with no problems. I've tried everything here - different buffers, reconversion, no dice. What gives? Is there something I can use to detect possible errors or something? (aside from buying a new soundcard or building a better PC?)

I've only tried resampling it in Samplitude's WAV editor. I think the problem may be that the WAV was clipped - I declipped it and it seems much steadier, but I haven't seriously sat down to check it out.

Thanks.

Or at 48kHz? The SB Live has a 48 kHz sampling rate but the CORE 2 might only go to 44.1 kHz...

Thanks guys,
Yeah, it was sampled @ 44.1 - I don't understand why, but the declipping seemed to do the job. No more "skips & stutters." I need to file that away for future reference.
