Imported ADAT tracks sound slow in Cubase SL

I just got SL installed on XP last night. Today I imported a 24 track recording made on an Alesis HD24, as 24 .aif files. The vocals sound noticeably slower. What would cause this and how do I fix it? Everything is 24 bit 48Khz. I'm just learning Cubase, so be gentle. Oh, my soundcard is an Echo MIA MIDI.

Bonus points: the imported tracks just look like grey bars - how do I make them look like pretty waveforms?

You may *think* you've got everything at 48KHz, but if your tracks are playing slow then it definitely sounds like you've got something set to 44.1KHz - causing the tracks to play back slow........

As to the waveforms - the waveform will only show if your line height is 3 or more. There's also a preferences setting to control whether the waveform image gets displayed in the workspace.

Bruce is correct. The sampling rates don't match. More than likely they were recorded atr 48 k and your software/soundcard is set to 44.1.

Cool , thanks. Forcing the card to 48K did it - I guess the Auto setting doesn't work.

Auto setting only works if it is connected to a valid clock source.
