Not in the same league as the ATM25, for sure.

That is why the price was down.

Thats definitely the PRO 25, as someone else stated. I like to use one on floor tom. Never cared for it on kick but maybe it will work for you?

He wants it for toms anyway. So still a good buy!

When you do something impulsive, Nick, you sometimes win and sometimes lose. On this ocassion though, I think it's a draw. :)

yeah thats a good thought ... its only 40 bucks anyways

maybe ill throw it on the floor tom and get 2 ATM 25's for toms

but how about this idea too

i havent payed yet becuase paypal is like down so do ya think i should contact the guy and explain the situation and say i thought it was a ATM25 not a PRO 25

cause i kinda wanted all ATM 25s on toms

He probably doesn't care what you thought, you should be true to your word.

Get the Pro 25, it's a good enough mic for tiny money. Like, are you gonna buy a couple of rubbish CDs or get a new mic? Duh. :)

The Pro25 is actually very good on floor toms. That what I've been using on my kit, and it has the exact sound that I've been looking for. It gets most of the "boom" of the drum without getting too much of the direct high end from the stick hitting the head. Even if I never find another use for it, it was worth price that I paid for it.

I originally bought it as a cheapo kick drum mic. It sounded good on a 22" DW kick drum, but lousy on my Gretch Birch 22" kick.

alrighty ill send him the money

i do agree it would of been pretty grimy of me to say i dont want it

If the listing said that it was a ATM25, then by all means tell him he misrepresented the product, and don't pay. If it said Pro25, and you mistook it for an ATM25, then it's your responsibility to pay for it. If it didn't say what kind of mic it is, then it would be reasonable to tell him you thought it was something else.

Just go with it man. It sounds like it's a good mic for floor tom, and you got it on the cheap. Those are fun moments in life.

You can always sell it if you dont like it. Or throw it at something breakable... that sounds fun.

Or perhaps you'll like it and keep it forever.

shit i actually just read it agian it does say pro 25 :(

Hey - don't sweat it. I made the same mistake in a pawn shop once - right after reading a thread on the atm25 and the pro 25. I saw the pro 25 for fifty bucks, and couldn't remember which was the good one. I though "it must be the "pro" version" - nope. It's still a decent usable mic.

Relax its a good mic for 40.00. I had 3 of them and used them for toms live and in studio. Its reallly not a bad kick mic also.
If i remember right it has the same element in it as the atm25. The only real differance is in the housing I think.
