I don't have a photo at the moment but I am wondering if there is a mic gallery somewhere online. My friend took a bunch of photos but I don't have any to post yet. If someone knows it would be helpful.

It looked kind of like a AKG 414 but I know it wasn't. It was a little square with a hinged mount on the bottom. Like a square lollypop.

Cheers, RD

Only a handfull of mic brands are distinctive enough to identify simply from a photo, not to mention differences within a model line.

I tried a google search and I found nothing that had a broad range of mics.

It was distinctive enough that I haven't seen one before. It had an unusual profile. I will have to wait til I get some photos.

Thanks, RD

Sounds like a Reslo ribbon from your description.

Sounds like a Sennheiser "409" from the description... gold on one side, black on the other?

Maybe a sennheiser 441 or 421, they are popular and used by stevie nicks and others religiously.

I went to a Dixie Chicks show last month and I've been wondering about a mic that Natalia Maines used. I think it was a Sennheiser 421. Anyone know?

Think maybe you could unzip it and just attach a jpeg?

just to help you out here....

I'll go through more of the photos to see if there is a better one...

The problem is low light, high ISO (400) and a less than optimal shutter speed. The other thing is that the performer was the subject not the mic.

It is a sennheiser. This mic is all over the Pink Floyd Video :live in Pompeii". They used them for vocals.

That one is a Reslo. The one in the other picture looks like a Sennheiser to me though.
