So for quite a while, I was going to have these guys do what they call a "digital tune-up" for $195
http://whitewaterrecording.com/mastering.htm
At the time that I decided I would go with them, I had very little money. All I really wanted was to maximize volume.
But now I have about 1,800 dollars. 1,000 will go for pressing the album, 250 in a few copyrights I still need to send in, and I still have 550. 550 dollars is enough to get my album completely mastered by Massive Mastering, or Mastering House.
$195 sounds low enough to make it seem as if I could do whatever THEY do for $195 myself. And with that deal there is no eq or compression etc etc
So what's your opinion? Should I spend a little extra and get a more full-service mastering job? Money isn't the issue anymore so if that's the better choice I'll do it.
Does anyone know Mastering House's rates? They used to have them up but not anymore. I need 9 songs mastered.
Anyone have any personal expirience with Massive Mastering and/or Mastering House?
Thanks!
