Hey guys. I think I may have been kind of slaking in the quality departement with some of the songs I have done lately. I don't feel like I put what I should have into them. Like just throwing stuff together. With this one, I tried to sit down and do something good. It turned out to my liking, but I'd like to hear what you have to say about it. I have been quite sick as of late, to the point of getting laryngitis. I thought it made me sound a bit like Johnny Cash, and I had always wanted to record a song sick to get a different vocal sound. It's a way to turn a sucky situation into a better one I guess. This is what I came up with. I really hope you like it, and if there is anything to change, please point it out.

I'm Sick

Lyrics:
I woke up this morning and my throat was really sore
I felt the puke coming up my gut and ran right out the door just like my nose
Which was runny if you didn't get that
I had so much to do today but on the couch I sat

I must strive to try to thrive
That doctor said at the pace I'm going he doubts I'll stay alive
Oh no, not I
I will survive
So I can continue living in this thousand dollar dive

(Chorus)
I'm sick X4
I feel like trash
Like total trash
My voice is so screwed up that I must sound like Johnny Cash

I puked everywhere man, I puked everywhere
And it burns burns burns
The Diarrhea
It burns like fire

An ice pack on my head and a thermometer in my mouth
I'm listening to that CD I bought of of TV called "Goin' South"
Speaking of which I fell like I've swallowed a set of "Ginsu Knives"
This is quite off topic but the "Slap Chop" guys need to get some lives

(Chorus) X2

Hello
I've got a cold

Adam,
Not bad at all - the bass is a bit boomy but that is very country. I like the references - I've been Everywhere is ripe for fun - I did a version of it with my class - instead of all the towns we just sang the local city's name & then dropped in the local suburb's name once or twice for variation.
Your voice certainly sounds sore - you ought not be using it if it feels like it sounds - years of smoking, whisky and speed are needed to achieve that leather timbre.
Fun listen.
Get well soon.

Thanks Rayc. Your version of I've been everywhere sounds pretty funny! :D Anyway, I know I shouldn't be ny voice. That's why that was pretty much the last thing I did with it. Right now I am trying to recover, but I always wanted to write a song about being sick, while actually being sick. I have an ear ache in my right ear now that hurts like everything. I hope I can take your get well soon advice. Thanks!

OK, musically I really like this. Love the Johnny Cash part. Sort of weird Al type of lyrics, but hey...

Thanks! I wasn't really going for the whole weird al thing, but that's fine. I think weird al's cool. :D
