Your (her) version of "Bring me to Life" was better than the original. Gave me goosebumps..... Fantastic...

Did you change this since i last listened? It seems you did. The hi hat doesnt seem to be ripping my ears open any more. Its still a bit thin and high end but its smoothed out alot.

And i hear the back up vocals more now. Its like you have a vocoder going. Sounds pretty cool :D. But you dont like a robot.

You might not have changed a thing and it might be that my ears are just a little fresher now. I dunno. But it does sound a bit different.

I think you could fix those drums up a bit. At least i dont think you could make them much worse. Theres alot of high end in there thats above where it needs to be. Consider a high cut at about 14000KHz. Might not work but it might help smooth some stuff out with those drums and might make the snare stand out a little because you will be able to get a little more volume without the high hat ripping your head off. And i would personally add a bit of compression on the drum mix. I wouldnt squash it but enough to get that snare out a bit. Try doing a 2.5 decibal cut at 8KHz with a .5 Q if you have parametric. If graphic just make a pretty rounded out curce with 8Khz the center. Then boost at around 200Hz about 2dbs. maybe more with 1 Q. If it doesnt work to well there try a little higher at 250Hz.

What is it with drummers that think the only tone their drums produce are high frequencies and nothing else. :D

Anyway, might not work at all but thats what i would have tried first of all if i was trying to fix up those drums.

BTW i brought up the advice about not letting it get to her head because of personal experience ;). Not because im an awesome parent :D.

Yeah, I did. I'm not sure when you listened, but I uploaded a new mix this morning with 80% of your advice in it. Also added some guitars (thank you "wireneck") in the choruses to make it a bit more poppy. I just updated the main link a few minutes ago, but if it had electric guitars in it, then it was a new mix. Thanks again for the ears man. (I was just ribbing you on the parenting thing...she doesn't even read this stuff; As a 14 year-old girl, she has confidence in exactly one area of her life, and this is it, so I try to pat her on the back whenever I can :D ).

turnitdown - hehehee...thanks. I can't take credit for anything on that cover - it was for a radio contest, so it was basically a Karaoke track. I'm in there some, but I'm not saying where, LOL. She won, by the way...then got disqualified for being 3 years too young, LOL.

Lol...you have no idea. Here's a :40 second clip with the backups just a bit more "exposed," heheheee...I call this one "Antares Abuse."

Yah im pretty sure its a new mix then. Glad my advice helped out. I think your going to use autotune like that, go big or go home. If you make it your style then no one will even wonder if its considered a bad thing in the audio engineering world :D. Just act like you dont really need it but you do it because you "like it" that way :D.

Hey, do you think Michael Jackson got to where he is today by getting pats on the back? Come on man! Throw out some of that mental abuse. :D

Nah dont be that extreme because i know you dont want her to be that close to where michael jackons at. Just stop at the fame and money part :D.

Anyway, back to the subject. This is where its a good time to have good drum samples with a good drum programmer. Drumkit from Hell style.

Its just too bad the drums arnt on seperate tracks so you could send them to me and i could drumagog them up with some nice samples or something :).

Another great job. I don't envy you though, I'm hopin' my girls will stay 4 for a long time. :D
