I have a home studio and i'm using cubase 5, how can i make harmonies in my song. I'm like rnb/pop. but mainly rnb. like to make the song have doubled harmonies, oohs/ahh's, some 'spoken bits' ....also ad libs flying over the top of choruses)

could someone show me how, like a visual or tell me... I'd greatly appreciate it.

~kind regards

You have to record the things you want on separate tracks, then add f/x and mix accordingly. Do some reading.

Have you gotten to the point of recording anything yet ? If so, how does it sound ? And if OK, have you recorded more than one track ? I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, even though it seems like a straightforward question. Are you looking for a way to artificially harmonize a vocal that you've already recorded ?

I have started to record..Umm like stacking the vocals,.. Im a visual learner, sorry guys. here is an idea.. like in my favorite Ne-yo song he has like so many voices in the chorus.

I'm still not sure exactly what you're asking. I will say this though. Visual learning I can understand and dig but at some point it'll do you good to experiment, try things and rely on your ears. Getting those kind of vocals and whatnot, experimenting may net you something better....

Uhm...sounds like a lead vocal with 2 call and answer harmonies. And just some regular harmonies in the later choruses. Not that complicated.

First thing you need to do is learn how to sing harmony, for me it just took practice, I'm still not great at it.

Second...uh...open more tracks in your DAW and sing? Not sure what you're not understanding. Create new track -> arm for recording.

music is not a visual medium....you should get used to using your ears...as for cubase 5 tutorials these are great
