I got lost. Lol. I want to keep it under 500. I see a lot of choices under that price and dont want to buy something i'm not gonna be happy with.

Monitors can be one of the hardest items to purchase for you'll never know how they will sound in your area till you have them there!

Yeah. I wonder if guitar center has a good selection of monitors. I'm sure they wouldnt mind me playing around with em.

Yes they do! They are all set up and ready to go to be able to A/B them against each other.
But that area is not going to be what you have for an area that your going to work in.

Just purchased a pair of M-Audio BX8a's, they were on sale for around 300$new. they sound good to me. I was at GC and they have the 8'' rockets on sale for 250$, a buddy has those and they sound good to me as well.
