I do hate asking much of you knowledged people. But something else that I am wondering about...miking acoustic guitars.
Experimentation is a must, this we all know, but I am unsure of what mics prove most useful for this. I have heard Leo Kottke saying that he prefers an old C-12, maybe a pair for recording his acoustic. I cant do this for simple reasons.
I have been miked with small condensors with pretty good effect - one on the neck one on the sound hole. And think this is probably the way to go for me. What kind of recommendations can I get for this purpose? NT-2? AT-4033? Schoeps? Neumann?
Hope ths will be useful to everyone here too.
