A: There is very little difference. Mineral wool is made from basalt rock that is melted and spun into wool. Fiberglass wool is made from silicon rock (glass) that is melted and spun into wool. It has a similar density at 3.0 pounds per cubic foot, and nearly identical acoustical properties to SAFB. "
