iBook + ? (mbox? omega? 410?)

I just got myself a new 12" apple ibook with 728 ram and an 80gb harddrive...now I have to buy a mobile recording interface. I was looking at the Mbox because of it's good preamps and good reviews, but I've heard a lot about it's latency issue...I've heard it's horrible, heard it's annoying, and heard it really doesn't matter and it's a good box none the less. So far it's my number one option because it comes bundled with a stripped version of reason and protools LE (and a couple other things I forget), and because of it's highly rated microphone preamps. However, if there is a better box (usb or firewire) out there with preamps that are just as good and doesn't have latency issues, I'd like to know about it!

i don't know where you read that, but the mbox doesn't have latency issues. There is even a feature on it called Zero Latency which allows you to monitor the inputs directly while you're recording.
