My guitar isn't tuning right - it just started doing this - I have had it maybe 6 months.
When I use the fine tuning pegs and tune it from low to high, when I go back and check the low E it's always dropped down flat again. I loosened all the tuning pegs, loosened the locking nut and tuned it with the neck tuning pegs - tightened it back down and the same thing happened.
I am thinking its either
a) I need new strings (still have the strings on it came with - used)
or
b) I need to tighten the trem springs
or both?
could old strings do this?

I took it in to get it restrung. I would do it myself (and I will next time) but I get a free 30 day tune-up from the guitar store I bought it from and I never used it so they are doing it now - Ernie Ball Super Slinky #9's
