Ibanez Artist PU Switch

Hey there my fellow pluckers,

I've got an Ibanez Artist, 1982 model, fitted with 2-HBs and 2-Tritone switches.

With my PU switch in the mid-position, if I dial down the volume for one PU it affects the volume to both. So if I dial the just the neck PU down to zero I don’t hear anything at all from either PU. If I flick over to just the bridge PU I can hear it in all its glory. If I switch back to mid position I hear nothing.

It's the same deal if I dial just the bridge PU down to zero with the switch in the mid position. In the mid position I hear nothing, in the neck position I hear the PU just fine.

To sum up then, with the PU selector switch in the mid position, either volume pot will cut the sound to both pickups.

Is this the normal state of affairs or is my wiring in need of attention?

same thing as with a Les Paul..........thats just how it is.
