"I Wonder Why" is a song that I wrote and recorded in 2003.

It's my way of recalling the very first day that I became a father in 1970 and how I could vicariously live my life through her and her dreams.

I Wonder Why

GregL asked me to post a pure mix of my original recordings.

This is just one.

I have another 80 originals to post, but there's no further point to be made.

Some of us record original music.

Some of us are cover artists.

You haven't been keeping up. I've posted a few originals. Not 80, but they're all way better than this.

Anyway, that's some nice original music you got there. I think I heard it in an elevator one time. Maybe it was on my grandma's AM radio. Can't remember. I was a little kid in the 70's. Thank God. :D

This actually doesn't sound too bad for a fag playing crappy geezer music. The vox sound kind of boxy, but the rest of the instruments sit pretty well. This must have been befor your ears "allegedly" went to shit. Not bad. Too bad you suck way worse than this now. :)

Did you use some sort of effect on the vocals or eq them? It seems to have a lo-fi effect...but it works to a point. Gives them a vintage sound. Sorta like the highs have been boosted and the lows rolled way off. Nice vibe to the tune, and some good clean playing.

That's the sweetest complimensult I've ever heard. :p

60's Guy: This isn't my usual cup of tea, but it's not bad. I agree with what's been said about the vocals, a bit lo-fi. It contrasts a bit with the clear lead guitar line though, so I'd either clean up the vocal or lo-fi the guitar a bit to make them match.

Of course, I really have no idea what I'm talking about, so take that with a grain of salt. :)

I must have missed the flame war in another thread seeing as I just joined this here BBS, but damn man... that's rough... Hope this isn't what usually goes on here.

Nope it's not. But this has a history! Here's the back story: https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=257670

What I would say is don't discount anyones opinion based on what is said here. Both Greg_L and 60s ahve recorded alot of tunes.

Yup and some of us fight on the internet! I'm with Dogman all the way on this - I think the vocals are too early 1960's but the playing - especially the lead - is very nice.

It's not. 60's thrives on and deserves any shit he gets. Everyone else is cool. :)

Did you have an original called like, 'Friday Night', or 'Night on the Town' or something? It sounded really Dead Kennedys only tighter.

Nice lead.

I agree that the vocal sounds weird. Otherwise this is a neat little song.

I like the single shaker rhythm section.:D
