It used to be that a lot of people mixed through NS-10s, but they were NEVER an exclusive thing. You always need to AB when using NS-10s. They lie like a carnival barker. When I was at Berklee, we used NS'10s, but one of the first things they taught us was to always listen on other monitors when using them. Myself, I hate them with an unrivaled passion, as they give me unbelievable headaches. Since I bought my Mackies, I can mix for hours without pain, though I still take many breaks to keep from loosing perspective.
