When you say, "Want to record vocals.." What exactly are you trying to say there? Maybe I am misunderstanding...but I think that if you take a small piece of coiled wire...and gently bring it up...to those two small holes in the wall...where the tele attaches....then insert the wire with a firm but steady motion...that should do the trick...

Don't forget to completely strip it first.

Does it have to be shielded? All I have is a huge spool of 500MCM can I use that?

If you want to record vocals without wasting money on a microphone, you could always use your cell phone’s mic and call your recorder and then sing into the cell phone. Just be sure to have your recorder’s caller ID turned off because you don’t want the recorder to recognize who’s calling it. Once it realizes that it’s you calling, I’m sure the recorder would just rather send you to voice mail.
