I want to add an on off switch for my USB power supply/audio in out

I have an audio interface that connects to my USB port. But the USB port stays powered when the computer goes to sleep. Which means my audio interface stays energized for the entire time. The computer is asleep. I have tried going through the settings to enable the USB port to power down on sleep, but it refuses to comply. So I thought well if I had a little bit of auto switch, mounted in the interface case right next to where the USB plug plugged in instead of having to unplug it every time I could just hit the switch. I’m sure this is 100 times harder than I think it is but thought I’d put this up just in case someone else had run into it.

You can buy USB cables with a power switch. You just need to make sure you get one with the data lines. Some are just for power.
