Well said Incanus.Incanus said:No worries, Rami. I'm always surprised and amazed at the type of mind-set that seems to think: If I tell people how great I am, then they'll know that I am great. If I am known as great, then people will listen to my music and accept it as such. Because if someone great made it, then it must be great. Or something like that. Music speaks for itself. It is what it is with or without the bullshit surrounding it. But, of course, you know all this.

IMO, our culture is so marketing-driven and image-oriented that a forum like this one is a welcome refuge of musical sanity. So it's understandable that forum members would get protective or aggressive about that when a poster seemingly swaggers in and doesn't listen first to see how to communicate here. I don't think necessarily Kay was conscsiously being self-hyped, and maybe she can't really see how it comes across that way. That's one of the problems when someone just jumps in and posts music without first hanging out long enough to understand what's going on in the forum. Luckily, most new mp3 posters recently have seemed to handle it smarter.
