I want some help, if your intrested I want to make a song simular to Genesis`s Suppers ready I figure that song is only one verse :D :D :D with variation.
So you produce that, mix it and I`ll give your`e 20$ I`ll even throw in a tip. :D

That is fantastic....I wanted to jump all over that concept. but that is funny enough all by itself....... :p

I would just like to state for the record that if I posted this:

I Want!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (((Metal Chugga)))) - Drop Links.

I would be downright offended if nobody around here made fun of me. That is what makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! ;)

Not that it really matters, but "KAY" claimed that he/she has posted in the RAP/HOP section when I said that he/she didn't post anywhere else but in his/her own thread...Well, it's very easy to read all of someone's posts...Just click on their username...Seems that even in the RAP/HIPHOP section nobody responded and "KAY" might have commented on ONE other person't "music"...if that....

And our friend "KAY" didn't exactly help anyone else out either....So, I guess, once again it has to be said that KAY has to GET OVER HIS/HERSELF...This is a site frequented by musicians and people in the industry...It's not about "check me out...yo!!!!" So don't try to bullshit your way through this place.

Wow...I must have been tired, I don't even remember posting the above post. I can delete it, but I don't believe in doing that. So i'll apologise for it's harshness....but I don't take it back.

No worries, Rami. I'm always surprised and amazed at the type of mind-set that seems to think: If I tell people how great I am, then they'll know that I am great. If I am known as great, then people will listen to my music and accept it as such. Because if someone great made it, then it must be great.

Or something like that.

Music speaks for itself. It is what it is with or without the bullshit surrounding it. But, of course, you know all this.

Well said Incanus.

IMO, our culture is so marketing-driven and image-oriented that a forum like this one is a welcome refuge of musical sanity. So it's understandable that forum members would get protective or aggressive about that when a poster seemingly swaggers in and doesn't listen first to see how to communicate here. I don't think necessarily Kay was conscsiously being self-hyped, and maybe she can't really see how it comes across that way. That's one of the problems when someone just jumps in and posts music without first hanging out long enough to understand what's going on in the forum. Luckily, most new mp3 posters recently have seemed to handle it smarter.

Well, that also was well said. In fact, more well said than my earlier post. I did hang out and read posts in here for a while before I piped up about anything. I was trying to be conscious of any 'bbs posting etiquette' so I wouldn't do or say anything that might impinge upon that which I was trying to communicate. I think you are right in that there are a number of people who just have 'attitude' mixed in with the music they are involved in, and can't separate it out. Having any attitude in the music can be just fine, but leave it in the song. I also appreciate that this place is mostly devoid of the marketing and image stuff. The 'attitude' stuff.

All anyone has to do is post an mp3 and just say, 'what do think?', 'here's what I'm working on', 'I want to know what you guys think about the (fill in mixing, instrument concern)', or some such. Easy. Anyone who does so here will get honest feedback.

Yes. I can honestly say that the first time I posted a tune here, I was very hesitant, and I had hung around and read long enough to know that I wasn't going to blow anyone away. Since I work alone and have nobody to bounce ideas off, I really post songs to get suggestions on the song, production, etc...And I can also honestly say that every tune I ever posted here would only be 70% as good if I didn't post it here. So, you don't come here to make people "check out" your music. You come here to learn.

I hear you Rami (I admit I didn't read all the posts above so sorry if I'm somewhat off topic), I write and play all the instruments in my songs by myself too so basically as good as I think a song is, posting it or letting other people listen always helps me see things I wouldn't have noticed before. It's a little scary at first, but worth it... for the learning and eye-opening.

EDIT: Whoa, I just read all the other posts, my "guessing what the thread is about by reading the few posts before the end" skills aren't too good I guess. They always told me, taking the shortcut comes back to haunt you :(

Advice from other people here, has made me what I am today....ok, not the phsychotic, demented, twisted, axe murderer you all know and love, but me....the sweet, musical genius that I am.... :D

Actually, this forum is awesome, and I have learned alot, it just doesn't translate into my real life...... :D

This has turned out to be quite the interesting thread, huh?

I think so!

It's another chance for us to learn from other people's mistakes! And that's always good.
