I am going nuts because I can't play anything in time. Disgusted and suspecting something else I decided to record my headphones into the mic I was tracking my guitar with. When I examined the waves against the overhead mic's which have a cymbol crash at the beginning the same thing was something like 2000 samples late in the newly recorded guitar track. I am recording at 44.1 so that's something like 50 ms of delay I think.
Is there something I'm missing? I am tracking into a DM24 through a MOTU 2408 mk III into Sonar 2.2.
Is the journey through all the equipment to blame? Is there a setting to get around this?
I've noticed this before but I thought it was me. Most of the tracking I do is a full live band so everything get's laid down at the same time. THis problem has crept into my work lately because I'm doing more stuff single instrument at a time.
Thanks, RD
