Thanks guys, Ya that looks interesting. I haven't seen the model here in Ottawa in my hunting around. When I went to Steve's I made the mistake of tellng the guy I wasn' tlooking for a tube pre. Baically I just don't want ot pay for a feature I don't think I need. After that all my questions were answered by "But it has tubes".
It seems to me that in the range I'm looking at, unless I get the m audio I'll be getting a pre with tubes.
If I translate that unit price directly to CAN it hits the range nicely. I was steering away from the ART stuff because the general impression I got is that they were more "nice to have" pres as apposed to uncoloured baselines.
Getting the high sign from sonusman has to be a plus, although I know this is in comparison to others in the catagory of "If a pro unit isn't in your budget then..."
