O.K. so I'm in the midst of a "love song" project. Please bare with me as I bare w ith myself and let me know what ya think of this one.
In the future, I'll try and show the other sides of my musical style. Right now, I gotta get these types of songs recorded and out of my head.

Any feedback would be helpful.
the song is called "like This"

thanks too all who listen. Theron

would love to but...

Nowhere Radio isn't working for me... is it out of commission? Are your songs available anywhere else?

Would like to hear them.

I checked it out, but only on lo-fi, sorry. Sounded like a decent song, but the quality on lo-fi was so bad that I couldnt even hear drums. I will download it later.

theron,

Best yet!! You've got great style, you become the song!!

I like the way you retain a slight amount of live sound in the recording, it fits the song well.

Can't find anything to complain about, sounds great.

Very nice!

GT, thanks a ton for the positive review and good vibes! I'm not the most confident songwritter or player so, comments like that help.

Schenkerguy, As far as I know the website is fine. I have not posted anywhere else. Try it again maybe?
P.S. I replied to your post on this forum earlier today. My reply is there but it didn't register as one. Go look at your post.

Davidk, Hope to hear what you think. I listened to this one from the hallway earlier today and I thought the drums might be too hot. Of course, I wasn't playing it lo-fi.

Thanks for your time guys

Well I've tried two nights running to download your stuff from nowhere, a place that has always gotten good accessibility ratings from my H/R bros around the planet, to no avail.

Strangely enough you seem to be among an elite web group that actually got MY web server company to spit out my mp3s. I've seen zero noise while double checking it from various local ISPs, but a lot of folks tell me they're getting the Royal Runaround.

I'll keep trying; some of MY mp3s are also in the Land of Waldo.

Nowhereradio seems to be working tonight. If you've time give a listen.
thanks, theron

Download worked fine.

Good song:) Balance was fine, everything was as it should be in this type of music. You could probably use DavidK playing some country fiddle in the background, but...;)

Perhaps the next time you post here, do what I do: Beg people not to do lo-fi, only download. The difference is mind-blowing. When I heard this yesterday, I honestly didnt know if you even had drums, and the recording sounded like you made it on a Fisher-Price Tape recorder my Niece has. With downloading, it sounds really nice. Look forward to more, Dave

P.S. Waldo mentioned on his Nowhere Radio site that he is having some problems with his landlord and power being cut off. I have always had success there, so check back

Hi,

I like your guitar playing and what you did with the two guitars.

For a love song, I was wanting more intimacy in the vocal. I think that you can get some of this intimacy by experimenting with some low mids. Maybe around 150-350

Or maybe try tracking closer to the mic.

This is a very good effort. You are definitiely a better songwriter than I am. I also really liked the expressiion on the vox as the song got closer to the end.

I finally got them all to D/L. Thanks to the people that stopped running the plague on Waldo!

I like all of the tunes.

The only one that worked recording wise was footsteppreviewmp3.

The rest seemed to have vocals that were a little more out of tune than a typical country twang would provide.

They were all really loud but seemed to be pushed to distortion in spots to accomplish that. You need to nail it at the "pre-mastering" stage and then boost it digitally to the available range.

thank you all for the feedback!
It's so useful to have others opinions before you call it "done".

Davidk thanks for the lo-fi tip. I download almost all of the tunes I check out and give comments on but, I've been hesitant to ask the same. The quality of representing the song justifies this extra request though.
I've heard your fiddle playing and it could only enhance what I've going on already.

CyanJaguar,
Thanks for the listen, I'll play with the suggested mid setting and see it that get the sound closer. Glad you like the songwritting as that is the reason I got into this entire recording thang.

drstawl,
I really appreciate your persistence. I've recut some vocals and tried to harness my erant voice a little more. I'm also working and learning how to get the full volume of the song without that nasty edge I seem to end up with.

Gracias por su tiempo
Theron.
