I have the free use of a studio at school, it has a soundcard and cubase, and the microfones are shuresm57's, and i can use a cheap conderser mic . I have 500-1000 dollars to spend, and im thinking of using most of it on an expensive mic (neumann 103, maybe? or maybe something half the price).
I play acoustic/electric guitar and sing. Most of my songs are kindof soft, i'd like the kinda sound Jeff Buckley has on Halleluja, warm sound. So what im wondering really is, will the difference between a 300 and a 600 dollar mic, have a big enough differance in sound that its worth it? If i wanna capture the whole voice do i need an expensive mic
All this is might be difficult to answer, but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Also i have a Korg 8 track i can use, it has a scuzy port that i can't connect to my computer, what can i do?
