I used to be exactly in your position... i do rap too... i started off getting a computer with lots of memory.. then i got a mic, a pre amp with 48V phantom power, a mic stand and a few XLR cables, a sound card, cool edit pro, and I was set... oh yeah definatley get a pop filter... PM me if you need some help coz i know of some good equipment for rap music...
