I just got a MR8!! need help!

Howdy fellas!!!

Ok, im gonna be honest with you, i just got this beauty but I have no idea how to use, if you are wondering if the manual came with the fostex...the answer is YES, but the thing is I wanna start recording asap, so maybe one of you guys out there can give a few tips before I finish all my reading...
If that sounds cool to you, I´ll be more than happy if you could give me a hand...

though its kind of cumbersome, just read it, and start trying, as you run ito problems you can post specific questions so we can help you out.....

D.I.T.'s right. There's nothing like just trying it out. The unit's pretty well bullet proof. Just don't hit the buttons too hard (they can break). Other than that, all you need to do is get used to the user interface and start recording. Make a few bad recordings, erase them and then start over again. By the time you spend a few hours making, recording and then erasing music, you'll have the initial process down. Just do as Dave suggests, read the manual, as bad as it may be.

When I first got my mister 8, I was pretty much a complete newbie to recording, and was prepared to spend a solid two weeks reading the manual and trying it out. Did it work out like that? Not at all; I had pretty much mastered all the basic functions in a few days...all you need to do is play around with it and reference the manual when you run into a problem. The mr-8 is a pretty intuitive machine, and is easy to use. For recording questions in general, cruise around different message boards and collect knowledge and information. Good luck.
