Thank you,
it's use it or lose it with the guitar and also with all the techno-jubbins that you have to get acquainted with to post online too I think.

I do like the Random Jammer's backing tracks though, they are definitely the kind of tracks I would be making if I had the same proficiency in multi tracking that he has so I'm very grateful to him for producing them.

:)

With your ability on the guitar, you SHOULD be in a band where you don't have to worry about making backing tracks. At the end of the day its karaoke with a guitar but yes I am guilty of that myself. I tutor bands as well so I get the best of both worlds.

That aside, if you WANT to make your own backing tracks, it is an interesting activity. If you step into this world, there is no turning back. It just draws you in deeper and deeper so if you are getting what you want from pro backing tracks then go for it. I would still be chasing a band. You have a lot to offer

Thank you Aus,
without wanting to sound like a prat but I can remember being a lot better than this when I was younger so I am happy to do some Karaoke guitar for the time being and then to have convo's like this online.

I think I can go a fair way yet using the backing tracks and I am looking to buy a bass guitar to help me make better backing tracks/multi-track tunes.
I have a Fender Mustang 2 amp at the moment which is surprisingly good for what it is but I will have a half decent class A valve amp soon ,even as I type sat here now I'm watching a few class A valve amps on flea bay so hopefully when I have a better amp I may start looking in the local classifieds for a few guys to jam out with a bit. I think I'd like that quite a bit to be honest.
:)

I'm only in here because a mate of mine introduced me to FL Studio and I've returned to music after a long ,long break because of him. I guess I owe him a good drink...
It's so damn expensive though so I'm trying to do as much as I can without spending too much.

Thanks for your replies btw, they are appreciated.

I liked this. The tone is maybe what Roy Buchanan would have
used, rather than a jazz guitar sound. Perfectly valid. Check
out Peter Green with Fleetwood Mac 1967-70 if you haven't
heard him. Deep, beautifully understated blues guitar, but
he can shred when he wants to. He plays a tune called
"The Supernatural" with John Mayall on the Hard Road album
(1966) It has something in common with what you played here.
Check it out.
[edit] --I see from another Youtube video you are familiar with Peter...

Hi Joel,

just stunning mate, mentioning me and two of the best guitars players there have ever been in the same sentence......

thank you

:)

I think as a player you are here to make a statement, for me most of the time that's being in tune if I can manage it but after that if you have a tone that works for you and it's not necessarily traditional with a tune or a stye then all the better, it should accent your playing more and you'll have to put somethnig behind it too to make it stick or even work and that has to be a good thing.

and another....

this one is pure fun,on Guitars.co.uk someone posted a backing track and invited responses. This is my answer and everyone is welcome too join in no matter where you are...

It's a truly stunning little magic box,so responsive to the touch and picking ,very dynamic and bloody loud too. The 30 must be a stone cold killer....
I'm finding the drive/gain sounds a little brittle to my ears tho so I may have to do the bright cap mod as described here,

Vox AC15CC Mod Guide | GuitarPug

if anyone perusing this item has one of these amps I'd love to hear what you think about them.

In amongst my collection of amps that includes a Marshall JVM410H I have a Vox AD15vt and I agree about its loudness. Its a kind of thin loudness though that doesn't bite through the sheer grunt of the JVM410H but as a portable amp for many general purpose uses it has a lot to offer. I have had to pull that one out when there were a few guitarists in the room but you wouldn't expect it to compete with the JVM410H volume at 4 or more and definitely not in an open air gig. It sounds great and has its uses say for recording, practice or small club gigs. The 30 is definitely more capable. Small amps these days are a lot louder than they used to be.

I bought the amp before I had a chance to play it but my thoughts were,it's a Vox and it's all valve so how bad can it be?
I think I'll be happy for quite a while with it,I don't think I've ever played through a Marshall so I can't speak from experience about them.

I did the bright cap mod to the amp for very good results,I would definitely recommend that as an easy mod if you find the pre amp break up sounds a bit harsh or brittle to you.
I just took the cap out but,

The stock value is 120pF, far too high in a Top Boost circuit. 68pF is considered a good all round value, or most people remove it completely.

as is said in the original article.

I am considering doing the V1 Plate Resistor mod now but I just bought an old Mullard ECC83 from ebay so I'll wait until that arrives and I get some use out if it before I decide on any other mods although fitting a new reverb tank is looking very likely regardless.

If anyone is interested I found a Bass too,it's a Westone Thunder 1 Bass made by Matsumoko in 1983,very nice.

:)
