boydrj - Hey man; long time no type, eh? I once saw a man with no arms play flamenco guitar for the pope...WITH HIS FEET!...so I have no room to bitch. Thanks for the nice stuff.
wfaraoni - thanks for the ears...I was hoping maybe some of the hiss got taken care of. I hear you on the drum sound...I had a really hard time finding a loop that had a snare about 4X louder than the kick, which is what this needed...so I was kinda' stuck with the sound. I don't have a great history with drums, lol. As for your back, I recommend large quantities of percodan...it may not help, but it's fun.
wes480 - Dude...I'm seriously impressed at that critique. you totally proved that you listened to both, lmao. As far as the Dixie Chicks version, I've only heard it once; but I've listened to the original for years...so I couldn't help but pretty much copy what I could. One of the coolest parts about Bruce Robison's version is his wife's (Kelly Willis') backup vocals. Jaimee likes the song too, so it seemed a natural to have her do the backups...but it's been like pulling teeth lately to get her to record... (*ugh*) ... She went with me to a gig in Houston on Friday night and was up SUPER late, so she was definitely not into the recording thing yesterday...and she's got a ripping bad cold, and...well, she just sucked, lmao (it's okay, she knows it)...I mixed 'em low. I'm hoping she'll take another run at it, but I'm no stage parent

...if she does, she does. If she doesn't, she just gets mixed REALLY low, lol. Anyway, I totally appreciate the post.
Toki987 - Exactly...The communication aspect is, to *me*, the whole deal. I fail at this daily, every once in awhile, it's cool for me to just study somebody else's work...no better way to study something than to try to reproduce it, I guess. Anyway, I wish you'd been one of my music teachers growing up.
erichenryus - thanks a lot for listening again... Is your studio up yet? Is your heater off yet? LOL...can you record stuff yet? As for the autotune, there are generous, HEAPING amounts of it, but it's on the fiddle, lol. Again, thanks. I guess the hiss is gone.
