Sounds very nice Chris!
Guitars sound really fine.
The violin was a nice touch, really brought the song together.

Great job for four fingers,my hats off to you!
Keep it up my friend, its not what's in the hands, its whats in the heart!:D

I had micro surgury on my left hand a couple of times,I know it sucks.
At least your a great singer, and from the sound of your playing on this one,I'm sure you'll be hogging the board again before you know it!:D

Hope you heal quick,
Pete

Excellent job Chris. BTW you suck. You put better stuff together than I ever have with your hand cut off & second team equipment. YOU SUCK ;). :D

I like this song. I like the Dixie Chicks version as well (even though they are on my shit list right now). You did this very well & did a great job of making this "your" tune. Especially with someone (me) who is so familiar with the popular version, that is quite an impressive task.

Very nice work. Good to see you back here. :)

In all seriousness, I've been bummed about my hand, and I haven't been recording anything (even though I owe some people here some vocal tracks
Like who?
Hey, I thought you told me you were quitting music.
I like this version, but I really think think the dixie chicks have better boobs. Not that yours are bad.

Seriously though, good stuff. That kid of yours is pretty awesome. For those who haven't heard, check her out on Chris's page on the songs "silent night" and "She looks to Heaven"
When I was her age I was melting plastic army guys.

Very intimate sound. All the guitar sounds were great, good mix. I think the bass was...err, the hard panned...ummm, actually it was pretty spot on.

Nice song.

In a search to find out who the hell the Dixie Chicks are, the first thing I stumble on is this (I presume this is their usual stage clothing?):

:D

I injured my hand a few weeks ago, and my index finger is now useless...

So now you need to learn how to pick your nose with the other hand huh? :):):)

Beautiful job. It sounds great, Soundblaster or not. Real smooth harmonies. I mean REAL smooth. I loved them.

Something weird with the word "heart" at 1:39. The guitar solo at 2:38 could probably be brought up a nudge. Every once in a while the harmony vocals had small syncing issues with the lead. Very minor though.

Very nice. I am not sure if I have heard the DC version or not, but it does not matter. I really liked the warmth which I think is combination of the EQ/recording and the warmth or your voice. It is very intimate which is what this any many of your tunes deserve.

Very well done and I know it has been said, but I am sorry to hear about the hand. Obviously you are still at it without missing a beat!

You guys are too much.

Crawdad - Thanks. Feel free to record something to put us all to shame right now. :D

Lt.Bob - LOL...I like the pre-emptive strike at the end of your post there...I'M WORKING ON IT, DAMMIT! Seriously man; this is supposed to be fun...take all the time you need, because I've already forgotten all about it...really...I don't even know what you're talking about :D

erichenryus - I have no idea what you have against me :D

powderfinger - You are a choad huffing ass pirate.

jcmm - okay, NOBODY has done more drugs than Johnny Cash, lol. Thanks for checking it out.

muzeman - Hey there...how's life treating you? Thanks for the niceties about the hand. I need to just shut up about it and move on, lol. Again, thank you.

mbuster - When the fuck did I tell you I was quitting music? That's like "quitting air," lol. I was probably on pain meds and just trying to get you off my back...I'M WORKING ON IT, OKAY?? lol. Thanks for checking it out.

DougH - Good to see you...you shouldn't have to work that hard to find problems in here, lol. Thanks for listening.

dtb - I think you're right...I may have gone overboard on the "warm" factor, lol. If you saw a couple of the early responses, it was "crispy."...then I think it got warmer, and by now I may be underwater, lol. I'll check it in a couple of days and then re -EQ.

GT- thanks for the vocal comment...since my daughter's so damned busy these days, I don't have a lot of choice about doing my own backups, lol.

Kramer - You have good taste in music, lol. You're not supposed to even know who Kelly Willis IS all the way over in Georgia. Maybe you've heard of Bruce Robison's brother, Charlie. He's married to one of the Dixie Chicks...quite the incestuous musical scene we've got going on here in the Lone Star State...wish my brother would marry a Dixie Chick...hehehe.

Jagular & Pedulist - lol... I guess what Nat did in the UK was pretty dumb, but those people who were smashing their CD (with THIS song on it) were supremely idiotic. :D - I hope they get back in your good graces soon. G.W. Bush lives about :10 minutes from me, and he IS kinda' embarrassing...lol; AND I VOTED FOR HIM! (Bush in 2004) I also can't believe Natalie posed shirtless in that Pic that Pedullist posted...jeez, that's like ME taking my shirt off...nobody wants to see that.

Again guys, thanks... it's just a cover tune, and I think we've given it more than its fair share of board time.

[edit] - JR : I had to read your post 3 times...I was like, WHERE THE FUCK IS IT CLIPPING?!?!?!....hehehee..thanks.

scott - fuck you :D

MMM - thanks for the db advice....I just brought the solo up a little last night, (haven't updated the file), so I obviously agree with you. Thanks for stopping by.

skids - Thanks man...I'm a little nervous about putting this one in the car now...I have a sneaking suspicion that there's gonna' be some mud received in exchange for that "warmth," lol... anyway...I appreciate the post.

I don't know what a wild card is, but this song made me all teary eyed! :( Now I need to go drink my tears away. Ah fuck it maybe I'll just go down to the bowling alley and but some beer for some under age girls and see if I can get lucky.

Nice song!

Not bad considering what you were working with. But why do we have to hear you on backup vocals when it could be one you and three Jaimees? ;)

I am not sure "crispy" makes any sense to me. I think it is much more smooth....
I have one little critique *shakes in her booties*
the lead in vocal (the first 4 words in particular) sounds a little "off"..not as strong as the song gets later....listening a second time and am struck by the same thing..Perhaps it is where the lyric is accented.
Otherwise, good. I still like your original work the best.

Actually, that's what the tune's about...you know..."Too Young, for him they told her, tryin' to get the pin from the really drunk bowler..."

hehehe...thanks.

Tex - You have no idea how hard I've tried to get Jaimee to record more...there's no standing ovation involved, so she's bored...lol.

Blackwing - whatEVER :D

whenever I listen to one your tunes I always think the same thing..

you don't sound like what I would picture after reading your posts..

nice tune.. easy on the ears..

i hardly ever listen to country but it sounds great. i remember dixie chicks performing song on snl, don't know if it's their song or not, but regardless it sounds great
