I got a good deal on some tape...

  • Thread starter Thread starter sweetbeats
  • Start date Start date
IF you order within the NEXT thirty minutes, we will include not ONE, but TWO cases of your FAVORITE tape! That's RIGHT, TWO cases of Quantergy tape- just pay shipping and handling* for the second case.

AAANNNNNDDDD, if you are not COMPLETELY satisified, we will refund your money (subject to a handling fee of our determination)

*(Of $69.95)

Wouldn't the weight of all that exceed $30 in shipping alone?

Cheers! :)

Okay, okay already!

Ghost knows...he's learned the secret of navigating sweetbeats' world of pictures...

Stevieb, you're closer than you think...

Yup...I neglected to mention the SECOND case of 1/4" GP9...20 pancakes and the Technics reel for $30 including shipping. Sick...and I'm happy. :D

Man!!!! How do you come across these deals?????
Don't think you'll be buying "1/4 for quite some time!

Sweets, this thread has the affect of a striptease. By the time I got to that last pic of the two cases of tape my heart was pounding and I was in the mood for love. :D

Congrats on the deal. Looks like you're set for tape... major score! ;)

Nice, but why so much? I mean 30.00 for all that! Since you were doing them a favor by taking all that tape off their hands the least they could have done was pay for shipping!! HEHE

Somebody just paid $650 for what I got for about $15...granted my cases were both pancakes and the one in the auction had standard reels, but I wouldn't think that would be worth the $635 difference...would it?

It's because the reels are made out of platinum. Did you read the auction? "Quantegy GP9 Platinum" ? Gosh, Cory, I thought you knew a lot about tape - guess I was wrong!

;)

Oh...right...duh...but...but even so...I mean, platinum isn't THAT expensive...is it?

Maybe Dr. ZEE will photoshop something together involving a GP9 reel and a power plant...:D:laughings:

................................:drunk:

And, not for $30 but $35 shipped (close enough) I've got 2 unused reels of 2" 499 coming for when I convert my Ampex MM-1000 to 2" 16-track...the conversion isn't half as useful without the tape to run through the path right?

I got the two 2" reels of 499 a couple days ago and aside from the fact that seller used the factory tape storage boxes as the shipping containers  I think I made out pretty good...the boxes are actually still in really good shape, the reels are perfect and the tape looks good too. One-pass stuff AND the boxes have the Alabama address printed on them so these are actually Quantegy product, just pre Quantegy labeling (but post Alabama address stickers), so even though 499 seems to be pretty impervious to sticky shed, this tape was made after the sticky-shed era. Not bad for $35 shipped...now to get the MM-1000 setup for 2"...heheh...sometime...

Wow...I really, really, really hate you ;)

I bought some new old stock sealed 1" 499 on reels, boxed, off my studiomate for his cost and it was a bunch more than you paid for the TWO BOXES of 1/4 GP9 'cakes :o :o

Now if only I could get the MCI de-grumpified so I can actually USE the 499...

Sweet!

I just sold the reel...

The subject of this thread, the two cases of 1/4" x 2500' NOS GP9 pancakes with the Technics takeup reel for $30, has now turned into to the "I got paid to take two cases of 1/4" x 2500' NOS GP9 pancakes"...I just sold the Technics reel for $47 + S&H...so I've cleared at least $17 on taking the tape...not trying to rub anything in...just excited...$17...pays for three siding planks for the house...:D
