I don't dare you to not listen to this......

First RAMI track I remember hearing was a cover of Sympathy For The Devil.
I was pretty new to the forum, but I'm pretty sure I sent a 'holy fook' PM. :p

Thanx a lot paw. Yeah, I've done 4 or 5 Stones covers. I never try to sound like Jagger, but I've been told I have the same tone even on some of my own tunes.

Me and Mick share a certain vocal quality. I think it's called "Bad".

The only difference is that his is "Rich Bad". Mine is "Poor Bad". :laughings:

That is awesome! Actually, I prefer your poor bad WAAAY over the rich bad.

Broke and better sounds much more appealing from my standpoint. PayPal address? I will donate. :)

I'd back off the compression just a hair, bud ... it sounds a little "pressed glass loud" and too "in face". Music should always sound "played for you" versus "shouted at you" ... (IMO) and this leans slightly towards the latter.

Arrangement is very good ... and mix is well balanced. Tones are great on the gits and overall performance is spot on.

...or something.

Here's an original one I just finished and did a general mix on. I'm sure I'll change the mix when I hear it with fresh ears at a later time.

Any comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Thanx

KNOCK ME DOWN

Oh, God, YOU'RE still here? :D :D :D

I got not much here. the guitar on the left might could be down like 1dB. You still using Recorderman on the drums? I love the linear sound you get...

Thanx for the comments. I disagree about the volume, it's not that loud or in your face. It depends on the type of music, I'm not doing MOR/AOR. This song comes in at about -12.5 rms, that's certainly not over-compressed for this style, IMHO. :) Thanx man.

Hey man, great to see you here again. Yeah, still using a hybrid Recorderman/Glyn Johns set up. Thanx for listening dude.

as with all your stuff it's great.

I don't really give mix comments unless something jumps out at me as significantly wrong and you never make those kinds of mistakes so I rarely have mix comments for you ...... more like "Let's see what excellent thing grumpy old Rami has done."

The only thing I'm not liking is the very opening guitar ..... to my ears that riff should be a cleaner sound or a 12 string. That's just my taste but I find that intro way too distorted.

But basically it's the same excellent work you always do.

You get a better sound with two than I seem to be able to manage with eight... :)

Actually, I use 4. So my sound is only twice as good, not 4 times as good. :D

(kidding....your sounds have always been top notch too).

Grumpy? I'm the biggest clown I know. :D Grumpy clown maybe? :)

Thanx for the listen and comments Bob. Much appreciated.

Another excellent tune Rami. I listened mainly for enjoyment the first couple of times then zoned in on the mix a bit.
lead guitar (esp intro) seems a little loud
vocals could come up a hair
snare seems low in first 3/4 then seems better
Minor adjustments really - great tune !

Thanx a lot ido. I'll adjust all those things once I add the back vocals that I'll be doing.

More snare, huh? I got no problem with that, but I'm always scared that it's going to sound like a drummer mixed it. :)

Nothing much to see here, just wanted to mention that I added harmonies in the verses as mentioned.

Sounded really cool. I liked the sound of everything.

The only thing I could possible say is I thought the kick was a little loud. But even that's debatable.

Sounded great.

Harmonies brilliant! I would've love to play bass to this live, reminds me of the sound/feel of a band I used to play in when I was younger! thanks again man! :guitar:

Really great composition and arrangement. Vocals and guitar could have a couple dB cut at 1 kHz - just my own personal taste. The drumming is hot as usual but I especially like the feel of the guitar playing on this.

Kick too loud? Blasphemy!!!!

:D

I'll check it out with fresh ears in a few days and turn it down it need be. Thanx a lot.

Thanx again Jiff.

Thanx buddy. I'll check that out. My voice generally has too much nasally 1k in it, so I'll definitely listen closely for that. Thanx again. :)

Finally getting to it on the monitors....

I think it sounds really good overall. Levels are great. Low end is tight and controlled. I think maybe the middle/lead guitar is a little upper-midrangey. It gets to the ears a little bit when cranked. Everything else is pretty awesome. Well done. :)
