I don't dare you to not listen to this......

I think the vocals are way too low, not just a tad. I like how you got the bass to sit in there without a lot of rumble. I like to know your secret.

Over all good tune, but vocals need to be pushed more in the front. Your vocals have a kind of REM sound. Not the music, just your vocals has that flavor.
Thanx alot man. I agree, I will definitely bring up the vocals. The bass is just my Ibanez plugged straight in, with a little compression on it at mix time.

I agree with all the complimentary things everybody has said & I think RAMI & for that matter GREG should do "how to" vids of projects for us,well start with just sending them to me first:), so we can learn some of these things that still ATM elude me,, a great song, a great mix(in my opinion it's perfect!)& all done so bloody quik.

Thanks RAMI :listeningmusic:
Thanx a million Jiff. If I did a "how to" video, you'd be disappointed as hell. You'd just see a guy dialling in sounds he likes, recording them, and then experimenting with the basic stuff (compression, EQ, etc....) to get it to sit well together. Considering how little I know and do, I can't understand why everyone can't get great recordings. I'm doing the simplest stuff and winging it half the time on top of that.

I agree 100%. My mixes are stupidly simple. I think that in general people way, way overcook, overprocess, and overthink their mixes. I firmly believe that a good mix is done before you press record. It starts with dialing in good sounds and putting the mics in the right spots. If your guitar tone is bad or your drums aren't tuned well or you don't play well, no amount of mix jockeying will fix that.

Agreed. It's really that simple, as much as people want to believe that post-production is where the magic happens. It's all in the pre-production.

Speaking of which, I tracked the vocals for this yesterday and then mixed it down and thought it was done. But the more I listen to it, the more I agree with Jimmy. It needs harmonies on a couple more lines. Not as much as he suggested, but definitely the third verse and a few other lines in the first and second verse. I should always let my shit sit after I think it's finished, but I get impatient and always want to move on to something else. Thanx Jimmy, you were right bro.

I have to admit I was aware of the lack of harmonies.
Was very pleased when they finally arrived.

I didn't think to mention it but I do think Jim's right.

I'll put them in during the week some time. For now, anyone listening to the tune needs to pretend they're there, because they will be. :D

I'm sitting at my computer and there's no reason I can't do them right now, but I don't feel like it.

Wanna start a club?

OK, we'll even have our own exclusive sandwich. Instead of 2 pieces of bread, we'll use 3. And we'll cut them into 4 triangles. How do you feel about frilly toothpicks? I'm for them!!!!

We can call it....let's see....how about "The Club Sandwich"????

Too far dude. Too far.
Im'a go crawling back to Jim while I still can. :p

Man, first thought was that your voice had a Jagger-feel to it. Then I saw you've already done a Stones cover and I had to make a comment :) Cool song and nice mix!

Thanx a lot paw. Yeah, I've done 4 or 5 Stones covers. I never try to sound like Jagger, but I've been told I have the same tone even on some of my own tunes.

Me and Mick share a certain vocal quality. I think it's called "Bad".

The only difference is that his is "Rich Bad". Mine is "Poor Bad". :laughings:
