I hope you have a second drive for your audio because C-drive is full!

By the way Toddskins, I'm from St. Louis also, Kingshiway & Gravois, graduated from Southwest. Imo's pizza is the best, Ted Drews and Gus's Pretzles, nothing compares up here in Chicago Land..

Lived by Gravois and Hampton Ave as a kid until 82, then moved to Kingshighway and Arsenal circa 1987
I actually worked at that Elicias Pizza on Kingshighway and Gravois for about a year in like 1989 or so. - Imos pizza is the best.

I was actually born on Quincy Street off Loughburough and Morgan Ford. Well I mean I was born in a hospital...

Gald you got your midi working...

Your first screen shot shows that you do not have a MIDI output checked. If you want your Akai to be able to control SONAR, communication has to flow back & forth between the two. Thus you need MIDI signals coming back into it so you need to check the Akai in the OUT menu. That will enable MIDI signal to go back OUT to your Akai.

The 2nd screen is not relevant to what we are trying to accomplish at this stage. That will become more important to you after you get things flowing, so that you can manipulate Sonar from the Akai. But like I said, that's not what this thread is about.

To make your Dimension synth work, go back to my post #8, and read point #5 and on. Remember, two tracks are required from soft synths, one for MIDI and the other for Audio.

One last thing, because this is going to come up next after you have all these issues squared away. When you are able to record a MIDI track using your Akai, and you get MIDI notes in the track view of Sonar, don't expect any sounds to be played when you rewind and hit the Play button in Sonar. Not unless your have a Sound source enabled AND the MIDI track is instructed to play THAT piece of gear. So, it's possible to record MIDI from your Akai into Sonar, and still not be able to hear anything on playback.

Was just up in Chicago a couple weeks ago, and did not have the greatest time. It was okay. Prices are ridiculous. Parking is nuts. Unfortunately, a certain group decided to have their US/Canda national rendezvous at our hotel. Swarming the escalators, elevators, restaurants, and bar of the hotel for the 3 days we were there, an all man-group known as "The Leather Club." Yes, you understand.
