you acoustic tone is beautiful. very clear. vocals need more presence in the mix though. overall very good :)

Thanks alot. There is not enough good things that could be said about the guitar I'm using. It's the Mitchell MD100 and costs about $130 dollars new lol. I've had a few of them over the years, one was stolen and pawned, but the latest one I got off craigslist for $40 dollars in brand new condition like it just came off the wall at guitar center. Put some medium semi-bright strings like Martins or D'Addario Flat tops which are a little more expensive, but greatly reduce finger noise and the guitar just comes to life. Harmonics ring off this guitar better than any guitar I've heard that doesn't cost over $500 and on up. I think when I have some money I'm going to get the most expensive Mitchell they make which is around $450 lol just to see what exactly $450 would buy me :P

That's a good price where is it from? If you have some pocket change to spare and come across one I don't think you would regret it lol. I find that you have to tighten the truss rod a little so there isn't so much relief and it plays nice and easy after that. Just something to keep in mind I do the same thing to all my acoustics the more relief in the neck the harder it is to hold down full chords. I'm no expert, but that seems to be how it works :D

BUT I do have one of those flat sheet metal bars with fret grooves cut out to make sure it's doesn't get reverse bowed lol

Sweet than it might be a good idea to get one of their higher end models lol

All I gotta do is skip the starbucks for a couple days and dig in the couch cushions. I don't know what that sheet metal thing you are talking about is.

I think that Mitchell sounds pretty damn good! A little boomy here or there, but you can overcome that. The proof in the pudding will come when you do a full on mix with the acoustic guitar, vocal, bass guitar, and whatever else you toss into the mix. Then you'll find out how well it sits in the mix and if it satisfies your ears.

Nice tune!

I have no idea brotha LOL. When I listen on my other computer speakers that normally exaggerate boominess it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think some slight EQ would work, but I'll try moving the mics instead. I'm not to the point where I'm ready to do any serious recording. I'm just trying to get a feel for things before I get started :D

I want to get everything as perfect as possible because I would like to eventually have some drums n bass laid down if I can find a drummer who won't charge me $$$ because I'm broke right now :P

If nobody has stepped up to this, I'd be up for doing drums. Let me know.

Yeah man it's got such a good sound for a cheap guitar. Just can't beat it.

That would be too freaking sweet. After going through all my materiel I narrowed it down to about 15 Acoustic songs that I'm going to be working on. All original songs that I wrote over the last 20 years. Not sure if it's over kill or if they'll all make it into the final compilation of songs, but I been waiting a long time to do this. So, any help I can get would be great. Some drums on a song would be great. Even a few songs or all of them would be bad ass lol. But it should be a pretty bad ass project. Can't wait till it's finished and I enjoy a few cold brews and jam out to it :D

Also, The only thing I noticed with this recording is the exact same thing everyone else has. Gotta get rid of those semi-unruly mid-lows. Around 400HZ, I would think. *great* sounding guitar, BTW.

Well... Just lemme know, man. I'm definitely up for a freebie for ya. Sounds like an epic project!

Yeah man it's a lot of shit. Very epic and I'll let you know what up with it :D

You really are experimenting with a lot of different styles lately, Phil. Keeping an open mind is a good thing.
Pretty nice tune you got here. I thought the acoustic sounded real good, nice and full. Like the guys said, just roll of a bit of those lows and it's good to go. Nice singing too.
