How do you set up input monitoring on an iMAC computer in Reaper?

All I want to do is hear a reverb plugin as I record.

thanks

Also....how do you set up routing?

I have the Maudio Fast Track pro installed and I record my voice...and can see the wav form....but when I play back I hear nothing. How do I configure my i/o for tracks and for the master so that I hear what I have recorded?

thanks again

In the lower vertical mixing console, right under the "Record Arm" button is the button to toggle monitor effects.

And one of the buttons above that, on my skin it's a squiggly line, is the send/receive setup for that track.

To setup your interface, just select it as your audio device in the preferences.

Right...where on an iMac do I adjust the latency for said M-Audio unit? Any iMacsters here?

Also...big problem:

I record audio with the M-Audio...it plays back on the iMac speakers fine...but when played back in headphones it is garbled and distorted and staticky...yet I know the headphones are fine and so is the jack...because I can hear myself record and it is fine.

Any tips?

thanks

I'm on a PC, but I use an M-Audio device (Firewire 1814)

The M-Audio should have it's own mixer/settings program. You can actually access this through Reaper (assuming you've set up the card's drivers properly) in the Preferences menu. Can't remember off-hand exactly what it says but there is a button in the "Device" tab that's labelled I think "View Device Properties" or something to that effect, it'll open your interface's...interface lol

Weird on the headphone problem...can't help you there, the only problem I've had with my headphones is the right can cutting out, it's deftly fixed by jiggling the wire lol
