How to use new Compact Flash Card with DP-02CF?!

Hey guys, I just bought a new 16 GB CF card for my dp-02 and when i put it in the recorder and power it on the TASCAM logo comes on the screen and just hangs there and wont do anything. I have to unplug the power source to even turn it off! Anyone know how to fix this problem?

The card may have to be formatted. Kinda like when you first put one (card) in a digital camera for the first time.
