How to use an external pre amp and bypass the pre amp from avalon 737 compressor

i need some guidance on bypassing the pre amp of the avlon 737 pre amp in order to use my interface pre amp on recording with my mics >
 
Looks like that unit has a line input on the back. I'd guess that bypasses the preamp and goes straight into the compressor.

But I have to ask...what interface do you have that has better preamps than an Avalon?
 
Thats what I was thinking. Im sure the avalon has better preamps.
 
Umm - plug the microphone straight into the interface???
 
The thing is that i dont like how the avalon's pre amp gives my vocals a buzzy sound , i want to experiment with other external pre amps, but still use the great compressor of the Avalon

is there a way you guys know i can do that ?
 
How do you know it's the Avalon preamp causing the buzzy sound?
