Ahhh... I dont mean to sound rude, but are you handicapped? I cant figure out why so many light switches and door openers never heard that before...

actually i am
not! i study in another town and i had to rent a house so look
the room is ment to be for couples so there is one door opener per side and one light swithc per side . if you hole house is one room then you want one switch when entering the room - house and one to shut them before sleeping .the door openers are also buzzers in case of em,emergency . but in the end its all greek to us here!

Just asking for it, isn't he?
I lived in a one room + bathroom apt. for a year myself.
I'd suggest some smaller tiles on the walls, that you could easily remove (velcro?) and put them in the bathroom when you record.
Run all your live mics into the bathroom and close the door. (have the drummer use the toilet as a "thrrone")
{I'm just kidding, most bathrooms are nowhere near big enough for a drum set...also, drummers might defecate while playing due to seat design}
In your setup (one room) you'll just have to get use to moving things around.
In your case, an interior designer would be a good start...that and a subscription to Good Housekeeping!
