There is no science to your question. The variables are, what type of animals and where do they need to fit in the mix. If you will be using these as background in a song, try a setting that puts it in it's own space to not interfere with other things in the mix. If it is to be stand alone, just tweek it until it sounds good.
The best guage to use when setting eq is your ears.
