HOW TO RELIEVE GAS?

I commute by bike. Stopping to pick up money would involve slowing down, and I refuse! 🤣

Beautiful Goldtop! It's good to not have the GAS.

After many years, I own everything I want. About five years ago, I made a list of the guitars I didn't have but really wanted to own.

I came up with:
- a nice 12-string (RI Guild or Rickenbacker)
- an Ovation nylon string
- an ES-175 or Gibson archtop
- a Marshall that I get along with

I found a plain mid-1990s Guild D-4 12 for about $500, an Ovation nylon for $125 (about $75 less than I was willing to pay!), a beautiful ES-175 that is exactly what I wanted in terms of sound and feel for under 2k (no case and it's a 1988, not some expensive year) and then I rented as many different Marshall amps as I could this summer and found a 100-watt Vintage Modern that blows the doors off my old JMP, 800, and a few others I've owned including some early 70s models.

Now, I go to the yard sales and flea markets and find old USA made things that are quirky or unique or I buy recording gear.

I sold a bunch of stuff and still have way too much stuff, but as Cosmo Kramer would say, "I'm Out!"

Very interesting post. Just this afternoon, my SIL asked "what would you have for your last meal?". At first, my thought was martinis and oysters, a dry aged sirloin, and a Louis XIII for desert (or two). Then I thought about my mom's veal cutlets and canned mac and cheese. I never did give her an answer.
But, like you, I have more guitars than I need, and one for every occasion. But there are a few I would like. So, for nothing, here's my list:
- Gretsch Country Gentleman (fake F holes, padded back)
- Gibson Hummingbird (older than 1967)
- Pre-CBS Fender Deluxe Reverb
- Gibson Barney Kessel
- Emmy Lou Harris's Black SJ-200 (without the Black SJ-200 )

Donald Trump designed it. He likes gold :D

Seriously, I don’t know exactly why gold was picked as a color choice. But it would show up well on black and white TV. Along the lines of Fender’s butterscotch finish on Tele’s. And later Gibson’s “TV” yellow.

But it is my understanding that paint was used to hide the maple cap from Gibson’s main competitor, Fender.
Exactly correct (according to my information)

This is my guy, "Chubby". Got a neck like a Louisville Slugger, and weighs damn near 12 lbs.

I just bought a Gibson Les Paul Gold Top. For no reason.
I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Like William Shatner and the slot machine in the diner.
How does anyone stop? Or is that a pipe dream?
You stop when you play the guitar(s) you have more than you window shop to see what's for sale.

IIRC, Les had a friend who was in the hospital recovering from surgery and had them spray one gold to cheer his friend up. I heard this years ago, so I'm not sure if it's true but it seems plausible.
