I have got a Behringer Eurorack MX 2642A with 2 turntables hooked up. Now I want to record my own mixes onto my comp, so I can burn it to cd. I am no tech-head and all those different outputs are confusing me. Anyone who can help me?

Do Behringer mixers have RIAA pre-emphasis pres built-in now? Or am I so out-of-date that turntables have the RIAA pre built-in so that this is no longer an issue?

Ah... ok...

Well, in a nutshell -- your mixer will route the channels to a main stereo mix buss (main mix, or something similar).

You connect the Main Mix outputs to the sound card line inputs on your computer and record using software.... some of these guys here can recommend a decent s/w package tailored to your needs... I myself use Cubase, but that's overkill for what you need.

Naturally - your computer needs a decent soundcard as well........ (and SoundBlaster is not considered "decent"!)

My Behringer is hooked up to a stereoset through the main mix output. If I use this to connect to my soundcard where do I connect the plugs to connect it to my stereoset, otherwise I have no sound. I thought I would hook it up via control room outputs. I get sound but I cannot prelisten to a turntable. I only hear what record I am playing at the moment. And the knob to prelisten a record is now used to control the volume of the record playing.

Hope it makes some kind of sense. I am beginning to doubt if it is at all possible.

You can also use "Tape Outs" to record with if your board has them....

For cueing, you need to use your AUXes set to "pre-fader listen"...

The control room outputs are used for monitoring.

turntables>mixer>soundcard>stereoset

Go OUT of the mixer IN to the soundcard OUT of the soundcard into your stereoset. ;)

What program are you recording into?

Are you doing the MIX live, or are you doing an "edited" and "tracked" MIX?

Let us know. :D

I am using Sound Forge and I am doing the mix live. I do not have much time tonight to try everything out. I will do that tomorrow.
