How to Prevent Guitar Track from getting Exhausting/Boring

We get a bunch of these abstract postings from new members lately. I wonder why.
I think it surprises us every time because we figure people would learn by now. But we forget that, even though we've seen it a million times and it seems to be common sense to just provide an answerable question, it might not be so obvious to someone posting for the first time.

So, the problem isn't so much that people should know better, because how can they until they make the same mistake hundreds of people have made before them. The problem is how they react to someone giving them advice that isn't what they wanted to hear. That's what separates reasonable people from idiots.

...and Springsteen fucking sucks......badly.......:)

Well stated RAMI. I completely agree.

Springsteen who?

Springsteen wrote some amazing songs. The good versions were done by others, (Manfred Mann, Patti Smith= who wrote a lot of stuff with him).

Not that anyone reads, but maybe we make it more clear in the membership signup, that it is a 'home recording' site, and that you should/must include 'samples' of your recordings if you wish to get 'advice' on how to 'make it mo betta'.

Oops, wrong forum.

Good point. "Blinded By The Light" by Manfred is great, as well as the others you mentioned.

But he also wrote "Sherry Baby" and "Hungry Heart". That cancels out anything remotely good that he might have done. :D

I think some of them know that the problem is theirs...and not the gear. So they come looking for a new answer (instead of the answer they already suspect is the truth).
Then when someone gives the true answer to them quick-n-short....they take it like a slap in the face instead of just sucking it up and saying...."yeah, you're right, I really need to learn to play and arrange more interesting stuff".

Now THAT...would have been the end of it.

But what often happens....there's this whole "my ego is crushed" thing when they realize that what they suspected was the real answer, is already known by a lot of other people. It's like they've been "outed" or something...and it bothers them.
They want it more sugar coated and kinda gentle like.....

I'm surprised this thread made 100 posts. I missed it all. The space between meltdowns is getting shorter now.

I predict another one in 9 days.....

A kinder and gentler forum that is about promotion of crap? Hmm... Maybe someone could set one of those up so we can send them to it. Oh yeah, it already exists - Myspace..

In other words....like I said about 4 pages ago......

He needs to write more interesting posts.
:D

Could someone tell me how to write non-boring music? I'd like it to be more interesting and not so annoying. I use instruments and sing.

Have you tried track colours? Red makes vocals less boring, and a bright blue makes an otherwise really boring guitar track great. Yellow, green & orange will also work but can be annoying if you are colour blind. Definitely do not go for not brown or grey. LOL, I've experimented with these two colours quite a bit, but they just made it MORE boring.
