So there is a plethora of plans available online, but I know nothing about electronics and the cost of parts is much less than a pre-built one so I'm willing to learn and take the time to build it, anyone know of plans with pictures step by step sort of? any help is appreciated, thanks

Here's another design.

You're going to have problems if you can't read schematics, though - why not just buy a supply

or

or a cheap preamp with phantom power

or mixer

This would be cheaper and less hassle in the long run if you're not used to building projects.

"yeah but i don;t know how to read schematics."

If PAIA is anything like the kits I've seen in the past, in otherwords, has good step-by-step instructions, then all you'll need is some basic tools and patience, mainly to get up to speed on your soldering skills.
And, more than likely some of it will rub off as usefull skill and insight into what the components and schematics mean.
If you're inclined, I'd say go for it.:)

Yea thats exactly what I wanted to do, get it for maybe cheaper, spend hours on it and have something I made my self, with the knowledge of reading schematics and stuff. So whats a good plan and where do I start learning?
